My name is Ralph Buckingham. I am a spiritual director and retreat leader.
Accompanying people who long for deeper connection with God, I seek to help others discover God’s presence and purpose in their everyday lives. My own meandering faith journey has encompassed evangelical and, more recently, contemplative traditions. I currently worship at my local Anglican church.
Having served in church leadership, youth ministry and overseas mission, I have experience accompanying others in a range of cultures, circumstances and life-stages.
I trained as a spiritual director with Sarum College in Salisbury, 'graduating' in 2024.
I have a particular interest in mental health—especially disordered anxiety. Alongside spiritual direction, I provide mental health awareness training for those who work with both adults and children who struggle with poor mental wellbeing. I also offer training in a number of areas including safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
I am married and have two grown-up sons. I live in the heart of the South Downs National Park, and enjoy walking, motorbiking and beekeeping.
